About Us

Our founder, Yashi Shukla, an alumna of the University of California, Los Angeles, and a globally certified counsellor, started her journey around 17 years ago.

Yashi consistently believed that “Every child is unique.” Her enthusiasm for instilling positive change led her to support the younger generation. While aiming for admission into Ivy League institutions or other prestigious schools worldwide was of secondary importance to her, she aspired to plan a course that dealt perfectly with the goals of each aspirant. This mentality gave rise to YSC.

For nearly 17 years, she has mentored more than 5,000 students. Her proficiency lies in scholarship applications, with a remarkable 80% of our candidates receiving scholarships annually, ranging from 30% to 100% on average. Our accomplishments extend to the successful placements of students globally, including at prestigious institutions such as Ivy League universities, Oxbridge, and European schools like INSEAD, HEC Paris, and LBS.

YSC’s fundamental beliefs revolve around avoiding the use of a uniform method in the application procedure. Our goal is to acknowledge authentic skills and mold a narrative that portrays the sincere passion of students. Yashi’s portfolio involves mentoring not only prospective undergraduates but also professionals pursuing business education around the world. Starting her journey by aiding medical professionals in securing overseas fellowship programs, she soon recognized that young individuals seeking undergraduate education could greatly benefit from the guidance of the counselling community.

Our Process

Get Familiar With Us

Engaging with the student in multiple deep-diving sessions and research to tailor the application to the student’s interests, needs, and ambitions.
Choosing a major or course is important, but identifying a unique application strategy at this stage is the most crucial step.

This step involves managing various tasks like social projects, tests, coursework, and more while also focusing on college essays and internships. It emphasizes creating a balanced approach in both college applications and daily life. It’s important to be realistic about time and effort, avoiding overwhelming work during the college application season.

Profile building is the foundation where each student’s special qualities shine. Through brainstorming and introspection, we determine how to showcase a student’s character. This could mean highlighting academic achievements or unique projects like research papers, business ventures, or creative endeavors. Our unique approach involves comprehensive PR support to amplify and communicate students’ projects to a wide audience.

This step focuses on refining the college list. We consider the right fit by balancing a student’s aspirations, family goals, and preferences to create a collaborative list of potential schools.

Our team collaborates with students to craft compelling life stories. We identify the story’s beginning, growth, and conclusion, adding a personalised touch to strike a chord with readers. The aim is to break the monotony of admissions officers’ experiences, conveying a student’s intellect, emotions, and determination in a captivating manner. We assist in creating the application account and meticulously review every aspect before submission.

Our Success Stories

Sanjana Sehgal

Sanjana completed her undergraduate studies at Delhi University, where she excelled academically with an outstanding GPA and GRE scores. However, recognizing the limited opportunities available to her during her time at college, we understood the importance of showcasing her unique qualities.

This led Sanjana to collaborate with us in developing a “spike factor.” Given her interest in economics and finance, we crafted a series of activities tailored to her passion.

One notable achievement was Sanjana’s creation of a curriculum on financial literacy for underprivileged children. Starting from the ideation phase to implementing the curriculum in various schools across India and ensuring its inclusion in a select few libraries, Sanjana demonstrated her commitment to making a positive impact.

Additionally, she pursued academic excellence by conducting research and having her findings published in an international journal. To bolster her profile further, our dedicated PR team established a strong digital presence, resulting in a comprehensive narrative that showcased the depth of her learning and her unwavering passion to effect meaningful change in the world.

Vibhor Arora

Vibhor Arora’s case stood out as one of the most unique ones we have ever encountered. With a background in engineering from a prestigious institution in India and five years of experience at Bain Consulting, Vibhor had his sights set on pursuing an MBA from a top business school. He decided to apply to three countries, that is, India, Canada, and Europe, with a specific goal of targeting the top schools in each of these countries. His college list consisted only of dream schools and nothing less.

Knowing that studying abroad can be expensive, we were determined to explore every opportunity for financial relief through merit scholarships. Vibhor was a highly committed and dedicated applicant. However, we faced a significant challenge in creating a compelling narrative for his application. The typical storyline of an Indian male applicant with an engineering background and work experience aiming for an MBA wouldn’t set him apart from the rest of the applicants. To differentiate Vibhor, we decided to build his application theme around gender equality. We discovered during our sessions that Vibhor’s mother had a unique story, and his sister had started her startup, which aligned perfectly with the narrative we wanted to convey. We identified genuine aspects of Vibhor’s life that he could confidently discuss in his interviews, such as citing his mother as an inspiration and obtaining a letter of recommendation from a company head. Additionally, we looked into Vibhor’s past theater skills related to advocating for gender equality, which he had previously overlooked. With a little guidance, we brought all these elements together to create a powerful narrative.

This carefully crafted narrative played a crucial role in Vibhor’s success. Finally, he was accepted into all three schools, ISB in India, INSEAD in Europe, and Rotman School of Management in Canada. Both INSEAD and Rotman offered him substantial scholarships, and Vibhor ultimately chose to pursue his MBA at INSEAD.

Tanush Zutsi

Tanush Zutsi is a highly talented and academically bright student, who requires urgent financial assistance or a scholarship. Tanush had exceptional scores in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and had set his sights on pursuing a highly competitive major in computer science at a public university in the United States. He needed a scholarship covering more than 90% of his expenses, which presented a significant challenge.

Tanush joined our program during the beginning of Grade-12 (IBDP-2), which left us with a limited timeframe to work with. However, we were motivated by his outstanding academic performance and his determination to earn a scholarship, so we took on his case as a challenge. We developed a strategy for his college applications that went beyond the United States, resulting in scholarship offers from every country he applied to, including the University of Toronto in Canada and Hong Kong University. Ultimately, Tanush was accepted into his preferred destination, the United States.

Given the narrow window to create an impressive extracurricular profile, we decided to leverage Tanush’s academic prowess as his standout factor. We guided him to emphasize his intellectual capabilities and deep understanding of his intended major in his application. By aligning his projects with his academic curiosity, we showcased his knowledge through various modes. This approach yielded positive results, as Tanush received a scholarship amounting to nearly 97% of his expenses being taken care of at the University of Michigan in the United States.

He was also granted three different scholarships at the university, that is the Honors College Excellence Scholarship, the annually provided International Tuition Grant, and the opportunity to participate in the Presidential Study Abroad program.
